Repositories Recreated - Working Towards Improved Interoperability and Integration by a Co-operative Approach in Sweden

چکیده
As in the UK, today, all universities and university colleges in Sweden, except a couple of very small and specialized ones, do have an institutional repository. A majority (around 80%) are working together on a co-operative basis within the DiVA Publishing System from last summer argued that further development, as well as higher standards of accessibility of repositories, are needed in order to make them better integrated and interoperable to ultimately bring greater use by both authors and readers. Not only the technical frameworks and presumably low usage levels are criticized but also the lack of “clear policies on such matters as the content they will accept, the uses to which it may be put, and the role that they will play in preservation”. The report concludes that: “In practice patterns of deposit are patchy”.

متن کاملOntologías mixtas para la representación conceptual de objetos de aprendizaje
Lot of resources in virtual learning are stored in repositories. The tendency towards standarization of these repositories has improved information sharing, searching and retrieval and fomented the interoperability among existing platforms. The metadata esencially contribute basic syntactic information, so it is necessary a semantic structure to enrich Learning Objects (LOs) management into the...
متن کاملThe Semantics of Semantic Interoperability: A Two-Dimensional Approach for Investigating Issues of Semantic Interoperability in Digital Libraries
The networked information environment comprising digital libraries, digital collections, and digital repositories increase people’s expectations for information access. Specifically, users anticipate better search capabilities across these networked information resources and the metadata records associated with the resources. The opportunities also exist for improved information exchange or int...
متن کاملCarmentiS: A Co-Operative Approach Towards Situation Awareness and Early Warning for the Internet
Although plenty of organizations collect sensor data such as IDS alerts or darknet flows, local analysis has its definite limits when it comes to derive conclusions about happenings and trends within the Internet as a whole. CarmentiS, a joint effort of the early warning working group within the German CERT association, provides an infrastructure and organizational framework for sharing, correl...
متن کاملeduSource: Interoperable Network of Learning Object Repositories
In this paper, we describe the approach to achieve a high level of interoperability in the eduSource. The eduSource project is a panCanadian collaborative project to create a testbed of linked and interoperable learning object repositories (LOR). Two interoperability mechanisms will support linkage of LORs. A semantic cobblestone supports connecting the LOR into the eduSource network and will p...
